Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

The MSU Library provides interlibrary loan (ILL) services for current students, faculty, staff, and affiliates. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide this to alumni, retirees, or the general public.

ILL is an agreement to borrow from and loan to other libraries. You can request books (no current semester textbooks), articles, video or audio recordings, government documents, theses/dissertations, conference proceedings, patents, and newspapers. If we can find a source, we’ll try to get it!

Most article requests take 2-3 business days while most loan requests take 3-7 business days.

Spaces in the Library
We strive to make all our spaces welcoming and inclusive.
Reservable Study Rooms & Tables
Reservable rooms are on the first and second floors, tables are on the second floor, and the fourth floor has one enclosed room that can be used by 1 or 2 people.
Brewed Awakening
A laid-back coffee joint perfect for your study session. Snacks and grab and go items also available so you don't need to leave the library!
Partners in the Library
GEAR UP, SmartyCats Tutoring, Testing Services, the UIT Service Desk, the Writing Center, the Center for Faculty Excellence, and The Research Alliance are all located in the Library and ready to help!
Bobcat Browse Collection
A popular reading collection on the 1st floor of the Library, just past Brewed Awakening. Discover the latest good books recommended by fellow students, faculty, and staff. Or read current issues of your favorite magazines and local newspapers.
