Databases for finding research studies, etc., on your macronutrient metabolism-related topics

Wondering where to start? Web of Science is a very large interdisciplinary database that's great for nutrition-related topics (and more)! Web of Science includes the MEDLINE biomedical database. PubMed is the open access interface for the MEDLINE database, but it doesn't always link you to MSU Library journal subscriptions (use Journals by Title database to track down specific articles located thru PubMed if not linked directly to them). CINAHL also indexes much of the nutrition-related research.

CINAHL Ultimate
Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature: a multidisciplinary bibliographic database covering the nursing, allied health, biomedicine, and consumer health literature. It also includes some full-text documents.
Cochrane Library
Consists of evidence-based medicine databases and is a unique source of reliable information on the effects of interventions in health care. The Cochrane Library is designed to provide evidence to support decisions taken in health care and to inform those receiving care.
Medline (via Web of Science)
The premiere medical literature abstracts database; part of a subscription; original search interface is PubMed, which doesn't link you to all of the MSU Library's journal holdings, as does this version of Medline.
PubMed
The freely available search interface to MEDLINE, the NLM's premier bibliographic database for references to journal articles in the life sciences with a concentration on biomedicine. All records are indexed with NLM's Medical Subject Headings (MeSH). To search a version of Medline that links to MSU Journal holdings, use Medine (via Web of Science). Otherwise, search our JournaList for full text of journal articles.
PsycInfo
Indexes international literature in psychology and related behavioral and social sciences, including psychiatry, sociology, anthropology, education, pharmacology, and linguistics. Research behavioral issues here!
SPORTDiscus
Indexes the literature in recreation, exercise physiology, sports medicine, coaching, physical fitness, the psychology, history, and sociology of sport, training, and conditioning.
Web of Science
This combined database searches the Web of Science Core Collection databases (Science Citation Index and Social Science Citation Index), Medline, BIOSIS, and Zoological Record.

ClinicalTrials.gov
A registry and results database of publicly and privately supported clinical studies of human participants conducted around the world.
Joanna Briggs
Includes the evidence-based practice content from the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI). Search for systematic reviews and more.

AHRQ - Agency for Healthcare Research & Quality (US HHS)
Supports research designed to improve the outcomes and quality of health care, reduce its costs, address patient safety and medical errors, and broaden access to effective services.
Evidence Analysis Library (EAL - Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics)
A synthesis of the best, most relevant nutritional research on important dietetic practice questions. Free limited public access, but you will need to register to use (ADA members have full access).
EAL research articles: Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
MSU subscribes to the journal in which EAL research articles are published [from 2012 to present].
MedlinePlus - broad coverage of health topics w/links to latest research
MedlinePlus is NIH's Consumer Health Website. Find information about diseases, conditions, and wellness issues, plus link to the latest research find out about clinical trials on a disease or condition.
