EndNote comes in several versions. For MSU users, , bibliographic management and formatting software, can help you manage citations and references throughout the process of writing a research paper.

• Free for MSU users
• Includes online searching & ability to import citations
• Cite While You Write plug-in for Word
• Store up to 2GB of documents (PDFs, etc.)

EndNote Desktop (X6 for Mac or Windows)

• Commercial: $200 or $115 for students
• Includes online searching, importing citations
• Cite While You Write plug-in for Word
• Store, mark-up, and attach PDFs & images
• Author, journal, & keyword term lists 
• Can modify styles and filters and create your own
• Unlimited citations
• Sync libraries with EndNote Web
