The Symposium is virtually hosted by Miles City Community College in Miles City, which will include a video tour of the campus and a welcome by college administrators.
We are pleased to have Montana State University Billings’ Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Dr. Sep Eskandari, as our keynote speaker. Dr. Eskandari will discuss partnerships between the library and administration and changing administrative perspectives on the significance of libraries in an academic setting.
Sessions include a mixture of practical training and broader, analytical content. Our TRAILS colleagues will discuss article delivery as an alternative method of access, the K-12 library environment, rethinking the service desk, and academic library partnerships.
Big picture issues such as book banning in Montana public libraries, AI and the future of libraries, controlled digital lending, and serving CTE students will be presented by fellow professionals in the field in Montana and nationally.
The book selected for discussion is The Miseducation of Cameron Post by Emily Danforth, a native of Miles City. Multiple copies are available at nine TRAILS libraries plus a digital version in Ebook Central.
