Keynote Speakers

Christina Holm is the Teaching & Learning Team Lead, Instruction Coordinator, and Librarian Associate Professor at Kennesaw State University. With 8 years of professional experience in a public services department, Ms. Holm has led many professional development events and written several contributions to the profession. In her latest work on academic librarian burnout, Ms. Holm compared the findings of a 2018 survey on burnout with rates and the likelihood of burnout in other professions. Through this work, Ms. Holm has developed an understanding of the nature of professional burnout and its relationship to cofactors such as age, gender, and academic status.

Nashieli Marcano is the Archivist and Digital Collections Librarian at Furman University. With 15 years of experience in academia, Ms. Marcano currently coordinates Furman University’s archival efforts in areas related to diversity, equity, and inclusion, acting as a central point to build existing knowledge created by campus communities. Her research interests include social sciences, digital humanities, and inclusivity in archival practices. In her latest project, Ms. Marcano seeks to bring together critical dialogues that contribute to addressing the issue of burnout in the library workplace.
