EReaders and MSU eReserves

To View Documents and eBooks from a Computer or Device Browser:

  1. Log in to eReserves using your NetID (the same ones you use for D2L).
  2. Add your classes using "Search Classes" on the left.
  3. From the Main Menu, select the class for which you want to view documents.
  4. Click on the title of the item you want to view.
  5. From the item description, click on "View this item."

You will only need to search for and add a class once.  After you have done so, the class will appear on your main page.  You can click on the class title and then proceed from step 4 above.

On Kindle:

  1. Follow steps 1-5 above in your Kindle browser.*

or

  1. Follow steps 1-5 above on your laptop or desktop computer.
  2. Click the "save as" button in your browser window.
  3. Save the document (as a pdf) to your desktop or selected folder.
  4. Upload document onto your Kindle following these instructions.

*Some Kindles have browser capabilities. Depending on which version of the Kindle you have, it may be possible to get pdfs online directly from the Kindle by logging in through MSU's proxy server. For other versions, you will not be able to do this and must instead download documents onto a desktop, then upload them onto your Kindle.

On Nook:

  1. Follow steps 1-5 above in your Nook browser.*

or

  1. Follow steps 1-5 above on your laptop or desktop computer.
  2. Click the "save as" button in your browser window.
  3. Save the document (as a pdf) to your desktop or selected folder.
  4. Upload document onto your Nook following these instructions.

*Some Nooks have browser capabilities.  Depending on which version of the Nook you have, it may be possible to get pdfs online directly from the Kindle by logging in through MSU's proxy server.  For other versions, you will not be able to do this and must instead download documents onto a desktop, then upload them onto your Nook.

On an iPad or Mobile Device:

  1. Follow steps 1-5 above in your mobile device browser.
  2. View PDFs in a PDF viewing app like Adobe Acrobat
